I myself use contact lenses and have not looked back since I first started wearing them early on in my teens. Contact lenses are so much better than glasses in that they don’t have edges to your vision that are sometimes optically warped, you never get pressure points and you can do activities like swimming and even surfing with them on if you are careful. Laser eye treatment is (I am told), no matter who praises it, still an unknown quantity with what are currently many thousands of guinea pigs, some moving into old age and potentially huge problems e.g. extremely dry eyes due to old age and a reduced cornea which can lead to ocular degeneration.

Bad points about contact lenses are that they lower the overall oxygen being absorbed into the eyeball therefore over time they increase the likelihood of arteries enlarging and growing over your retina in their quest to absorb more oxygen. This can in sever circumstances, typically in elderly people, result in reduced vision. Luckily it is a very slow process, that doesn’t adversely affect most people. When wearing contact lenses for many hours every day your eyes can feel slightly tired. Falling to sleep with non-24 hour contact lenses on your eyes can produce a very uncomfortable situation where the lenses have dried up a bit and stick to your eyes somewhat. In the long run contact lenses can be more expensive than glasses.
